My wife, Deb, and I were Utah delegates to the Libertarian Party National Convention in Las Vegas in early May. The LP is the largest third party in country with ballot status in all 50 states.

I talked with at least 20 delegates from several states. For awhile it seemed as if everyone must have been from Utah. Libertarians from around the country displayed the same traits as the vast majority of Utahns I have met in my almost three years in St. George – unfailingly polite; willing to speak forcefully and freely but without rancor; hard-working; and accepting personal responsibility as a guiding force
