OK, Libertarians: The Assault Rifle They Want To Ban

It’s…the Hippie teen hunting weapon they once brought to school.

Don’t laugh. They’re already telling you the real agenda: An East Coast mayor appeared on MSNBC claiming all firearms were “Weapons of Mass Destruction” that should be banned ( except for officials, natch, thus creating an exclusively armed aristocracy–the definition of feudalism…) while many extreme conservative pundits wax apoplectic and demand ‘violent’ shows be forbidden to boot. So find what many Libertarians know in this  informative article on a great weapon in many US homes, and additional links below…NEVERMIND hysterical officials that are ignoring that:

•  This is the type of weapon teen hippies once regularly brought to US schools ( for after school gun class ) as recently as the 70′s ( no shooting incidents then),
• The ‘assault weapon’ type was not even used in recent shootings according to reports,
• Long gun banning has created a crime wave of home invasions in the UK and other countries that leave the ‘violent’ USA well behind. Never mind well-policed Australia, where community patrols and watches abound and the ban does not apply to isolated farmers
• Likely  the real problem –besides not putting proper lockdowns of private security in the schools like many countries–seems to be a rash poorly supervised and sometimes Federally mandated medications that create homicidal episodes in some patients.

People have a right to secure infantry weapons in their homes and title to capital weapons ( or regular weapons if imbalanced persons) in secure armories. In common law, reasonable details are up to local circumstances and conditions, but that’s the correct policy. Governments as public agents have no right to any property at all ( in US law, government is the trustee, not owner, for the people—something else they may be trying to change in the public mind)… And maybe the statutes making it difficult for worried parents to bring in deranged over 17 children–when they’re most likely to have affective and paranoid disorders–need to be reviewed.

Not to mention the average 3 weapons in 1/3rd of US Homes ( typically a street defense pistol, home defense shotgun, and hunting rifle/assault weapon for civil disturbance) source of the 300 MM figure gasped out by commentators claiming there’re to many guns) is among other things what makes the US Militia the mightiest military force on the planet. Time to make it again entirely citizen run?
